St Botolphs Church, Skidbrooke
There is  just so much to do we cannot possibly include everything but here are a few  favourites. We have lots of maps and leaflets that you are welcome  to borrow.

For most, the attraction of this area is the wildlife. Miles and miles of wild coastline with dunes and sandy beaches (often all to yourself). This is the county that inspired Tennyson.

St. Boltophs church is well worth a visit . The chancel arch is c1200, and the arcades are early 13th century. The south arcade is awesome  with its octagonal waist-high column bases of about 1400. Disused since about 1960, it is now a home to owls and maintained since 1975 by the Churches Conservation Trust (formerly the Redundant Churches Fund) It is a characteristic Lincolnshire marshland church with a special charm and character. It has long had a reputation as one of the most haunted places in Britain with many reported supernatural sightings. We just find it a very peaceful place to be

For shopping and restaurants,  Louth, an old fashioned  market town with unique shops and thriving farmers  markets is only 9 miles. 'Louth Farmers  Market is on the second Friday and fourth Wednesday of the month. For bookaholics and antique hunters, Horncastle is a must.  Lincoln (28m), with it’s Castle. Cathedral and the Collection, is  in easy reach, as are Cleethorpes and Grimsby up the coast.

For walkers there's the Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival, 80 walks late May each year. Cyclists can explore both the flat and hilly countryside surrounding Louth so bring your bike and enthusiasm and we will sort out a route that suits you! . More information on walking and cycling 01507 609740

Linconshire Wildlife Trust organises events from Bat Nights to Woodland Walks throughout the year.

If you need a fix of kiss-me-quick action, Mablethorpe is 8 miles down the coast. Sutton on sea is more genteel and a couple of miles further. Both have wide, clean sandy beaches.

A very enjoyable stay - excellent cooking and restful nights! Thank you very much, I will certainly come again."

And one, an English home - grey twilight pourd
On dewy pasture, dewy trees
Softer than sleep - all things in order stored
A haunt of ancient peace
